Rooms and Accommodation

Hotel is divided in two parts. In the from one, there are 12 double rooms deluxe with real working Dutch stove and one suite.

The author of current appearance of the house was Francesco Canevale, a distinguished stone worker who arrived in Brno in the middle of the 1580s. Working jointly with other Italian artists, they rearranged and decorated the New and Old Town Hall, the Barons of Lipá House as seen today and a number of other buildings. Francesco Canevale obtained the house on 29 April 1589in result of marrying Agnes, a widow of Antonio Silva, also a stone worker.

Canevale got down to the house refurbishment in 1595-1596. He decorated it with a splendid doorway, much admired until our days, and even placed his emblem at the top of the arch, below a distinct cornice. The emblems depicts an arm and a hand holding a small tree. Don´t get misled, however. It is not “a tree”, it is a cinnamon tree, from the Italian name of which Canevale derived his name.

In 1996 – 1998 the house was refurbished to obtain the original appearance

In the back, there are 17 standard double rooms.
All the rooms are designed in the same historical style with waffleceilings and paintings. The equipment of bathrooms include a hairdryer and bidet.

Where to find Brno

Brno lies in the central part of Europe, in the Czech Republic of which it is the second largest city. At the same time, it represents the centre of the province of Moravia, one of the historic lands of the Czech Crown. It is situated at the crossroads of ancienttrade routes which have joined the North and South European civilizations for centuries.

The city itself lies in the basin of the Svratka and Svitava rivers, somewhat to the north of their conflux at elevations ranging from 190 to 425 meters (620 to 1395 ft) above sea level and, covers an area of 230 km2 (143 sq.miles). From east to west it spans about 22 km (13 miles). The river Svratka cuts a 29 km (17 mile) path throught the city and is the main supply for the Kninicky DamLake, a popular recreation area in the city's northwest corner. The Svitava River flows through the city for about 13 km (8 miles).
