History

The history of modern Dejvice as a part of Prague begins in last century (1920). At this time the whole suburb within its center - Vitezne Namesti - has been built together in compilance with urban plans of an architect Antonin Engel.

Tram line has been included too and near the beginning of the WW2 also the trolley line. Works continues from Vitezne Namesti to the North, to Podbaba. After the war, there was built Hotel International, symbol of socialist realism. In 1978 first metro comes to Dejvice, to the station Leninova (today, the station is named Dejvicka).

Transportation

By public transportation

There is a metro station where terminates line A, together with bus lines to Suchdol and Podbaba. Within underground are Dejvice connected with the city center with tram line through Prasny Most. The railway station Praha - Dejvice is located at the metro station Hradcanska.

By car

The main hub of Dejvice are streets from Vitezne Namesti - Evropska (to the airport), Jugoslavskych Partyzanu, Ceskoslovenske armady and Kafkova.
