The Jewish Quarter Tour
For centuries the real heart of the Old town, the Jewish Quarter has a remarkable history. The Old Cemetery. The synagogues... the Golem... comparing past and present and making reference to rare archive material, this walk explores the life of it's peoples both real and imagined. The development of the Jewish Ghetto including the history of its synagogues, its Old Cemetery and Town Hall-Jewish communities in Prague from the earliest records of 965 to the pronouncements of the second Lateran council in 1215.
The changing status of Jews over time-The background to and reasons for the comprehensive redevelopment of the Ghetto 100 years ago-The fate of the Jews over the centuries and the tragedy of the holocaust-The remnants of a community; the present day situation for Prague's Jewish community.
Payment
We request for payment of our services in advance when the customer meets our guide as we want you to feel comfortable with the person taking care of you and on the other hand, certain packages require a dress code to be respected. The payment should be in Euros otherwise the following exchange rates are applicable:
