Description
The impounding reservoir was finished in 1957 and raised the water level of the river Moldau by 70 m.
The hydroelectric power plant is set immediately in the dam structure; it is equipped with three Kaplan turbines.
The dam does not contain a lock chamber and thus creates obstruction on the river. It is also used for recreation.
