Velhartice

Description

This castle boasts a core dating back to the end of the 13th century.

Under the reign of Charles IV, a unique bridge (which has survived to this day) was built along a rocky crest to connect the castle's residential palace with the defensive tower.

At the beginning of the Thirty Years' War the then owner had a new, late Renaissance palace incorporated in the castle complex.

Today visitors can relax at the castle by taking part in historical social games or attending musical and theatre performances staged there.
